The University has instituted an OPT Service Fee of $500 for graduate students who will require assistance from the University's Office of International Student Services to maintain their SEVIS records in compliance with US regulations pertaining to Optional Practical Training (OPT).  This fee may be paid through the International Student Portal (international.fdu.edu) under Forms and Request in the section for OPT Service Fee.  The OPT Service Fee will be valid for one calendar year and must be renewed each year for continued service to maintain a SEVIS record on OPT status, where applicable.

The purpose of the OPT Service Fee is to ensure that students continue to receive the high standard of service and expertise of the University's Office of International Student Services even after graduating from their degree program at FDU.  The changing regulatory landscape requires constant monitoring and adherence to new and complex rules and conditions for employment on OPT status in the United States.  We thank you for your understanding and support, and we look forward to serving you throughout your studies and after the successful completion of your degree program at the University.
