About IEW  International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of FDU’s efforts to promote programs that prepare students for a global environment and invite future leaders to engage in international study, learning, and exchange experiences.

Ways to Get Involved 

This week is an opportunity to develop the global citizenship of the FDU community across all campuses. If you are interested in hosting an event at either campus please fill out an  Event Form

Ways to Get Involved
Departments
  • Identify faculty and staff members who are interested in global issues or have international experience for a lecture or Q & A session 
  • Host an event that may not have an international focus can be tweaked to add a cross-cultural element
  • Involve those who have never traveled outside of the U.S. with their international colleagues in a learning experience.
  • Host workshops on internationally focused topics
  • Sponsor poster presentations from a globally focused class
  • Contact the International Education Week Committee for more ideas/assistance on how to get global! 

Students and Student Organizations
Host an event that:
  • Encourages discussions on cultural/cross-cultural identity 
  • Includes multi-cultural/international celebrations, demonstrations, or displays
  • Focuses on international languages, music, and art 
  • Highlights a U.N. Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)
